The perennial ska and reggae performer Wilburn "Stranger" Cole, who scored numerous hits throughout the 1960s and '70s with partners including Ken Boothe and the ska bandleader Tommy McCook, makes a welcome 21st century reappearance as the Rasta-inspired Stranjah Cole on this collection of stirringly soulful material. Featuring seven original, contemporary-sounding tracks, twinned with seven dubs by the renowned producer and sound system DJ Jah Shaka, highlights include the hypnotic title song, which recalls some of the guttural passion of Prince Far I, and the heartfelt sufferer's anthem "Victim Of Society."
